We are constantly recruiting referees!

We would welcome anyone who wishes to become a referee. Although it might seem daunting at first, refereeing is actually very enjoyable.  It’s a great way to learn more about the game – rules and game tips you can pass on to your team-mates, see and meet players at different levels and across different divisions.  Many players use it as a way of giving something back to the game.  After all one of the jobs of a referee is to help new players learn and enjoy the game.
 
As always, we are looking for players to help out with refereeing this year. The Scottish Touch Association runs basic entry level courses  for referees and supports new officials by having them paired up with an experienced referee until they find their feet. Subject to the number of referees available, games will be officiated by teams of 2, or ideally, 3 referees.  The more referees there are for each game, the better it is for both players and officials.  As such, we need new people who are willing to give refereeing a go! If in the unfortunate situation of not having any referees available, then we would ask teams to each “officiate” a half each.  While this is unlikely – it can happen so please note the above and try to help us – help you!
